Meet Bejal · The Founder
I’m Bejal, a UK-based responsible traveller
I’m Bejal aka Be, the travel-adoring, eco-conscious and coffee-loving face behind Be-lavie. Be-lavie is an award-winning UK-based travel blog that started in 2017, advocating responsible and sustainable travel. It features luxury stays, cultural discoveries, deep community connections and vegetarian foodie experiences. Drawing on more than 20 years of personal travel, I share curated guides, itineraries and tips that inspire mindful exploration through meaningful encounters and local insights.

The story
The Be behind Be-lavie
I live in Leicester — a city in the middle of England (famously known as the place where they found the king in the car park, Richard III) — with my equally geeky travel partner in crime. I’d call myself an experiential boutique traveller with a focus on sustainability and responsible travel; my journeys aim to build deeper, more meaningful connections with local communities and to make choices that contribute towards a circular economy at the destinations I visit.

To date I’ve travelled to over 75 countries across six continents and, honestly, I’m not sure I want to make that seven by going to Antarctica. Some things should remain untouched.
As well as global jaunts and travelling around the UK, I’m a keen supporter of local independent businesses in my home city. I’ve created local Leicestershire guides on history, foodie spots like the best breakfast cafés, beautiful hotels, street art, unique experiences and — of course — the all-important coffee stops.
I’m always in search of creative vegetarian places to eat, which is why I especially love discovering veggie fine-dining menus.
In my spare time, you’ll find me scoping out street art, sipping coffee at local indie cafés and snapping photos of historic streets.
My manifesto
“Travel the world, experience the culture, feed your curiosity, enrich your soul, tell the story.”
